About the Artist

You use a glass mirror to see your face; you use works of art to see your soul.

About the Artist

Patricia K. Sommer

Patricia has had the creative impulse for as long as she can remember, and has worked in many materials.

However, in recent years she has limited her work to two mediums: paint and clay. Her paintings can be in watercolor and/or acrylic. They may be interpretive or abstract. Pottery is usually wheel-thrown, but is sometimes slabbed or pinched. It can be functional or decorative.

She is based in Colorado, where nature provides abundant inspiration. Interpretive landscapes and atmospheric conditions are common themes in her work.

She is influenced by Van Gogh’s bold brush strokes and colors, and Monet’s intuitive approach to painting color and light. Beauty, joy and peace permeate her work.
